Hi, I'm Max, but in this context, I'm Tonto.
I've been making Hip Hop music independently since 2017 out of Mount Maunganui, and Auckland, New Zealand. It might sound cocky, but I do believe I provide something totally different to the music industry. My flow, lyrics, beats and delivery are difficult to compare to anyone else.

It all started when a couple of us wanted to make a diss track on our friend. We made the song in twenty minutes using GarageBand and I immediately fell in love. The next day I made four different songs over beats I found online and started showing them to my friends. From there I made my first mixtape and the rest was history.

I've just released my 11th project, BYNOMEANS. I find this album to be a clear sign of how far I have come since that first diss track. Where it took me two weeks to make my first mixtape, this album took me two years. I take pride in my work, I make all of my music in my bedroom myself.

I measure success by the size of my smile once I finish each song. I have always made music for myself, and I'm grateful to be in a position where I can share it with my friends and family. Though I'm not focused on making a career out of my music, I love the idea of having the world hear it.
